Cultural Lettering
Intervention at the Zwart Jansstraat, Rotterdam 2009
A collaboration with Koen Evers and Marieke Dekker.
An intervention at the Zwart Jansstraat in Rotterdam. We did the lettering for a nearly closing shop named 'Notenbar' (Nut Shop). Because the shop is closing. We had to do something that enables the shop-owner to work towards his pension. The concept is that the shop-owner strips down the taped peanuts off his windows. One single stroke each day until his last day. Beneath the peanuts lies a hidden text.
The left window shows the text Genoten (Enjoyed) and the right window Genieten (Enjoy).
